The Lord's Prayer
In this first post , we look at the prayer Jesus taught his followers. It's a good place for us to begin our journey.
To start off our home fellowship we will spend some time looking at the prayer our Lord taught his disciples that we commonly call The Lord's Prayer (Matthew 6:9-13). For some background and study, you may want to listen to this podcast: https://bibleproject.com/podcast/matthew-p10-lords-prayer/?utm_source=web_social_share&medium=shared_podcast (courtesy of The Bible Project)
Here's the prayer: Matthew 6:9-13 (New International Reader's Version)
9 “This is how you should pray.
“ ‘Our Father in heaven,
may your name be honored.
10 May your kingdom come.
May what you want to happen be done
on earth as it is done in heaven.
11 Give us today our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our sins,
just as we also have forgiven those who sin against us.
13 Keep us from sinning when we are tempted.
Save us from the evil one.’
Check out the podcast and the prayer. Then, let's come together and discuss what we are learning about this important prayer. We meet at 6pm for dinner first (soup and bread) followed by prayer and study.
Looking forward to our time together,
John
